MITOEAGLE Feedback
- My interest in joining this COST action is because I am recently working in mitochondrial biogenesis and also with some compounds that interfere with mitochondrial function. My main research interest has do with neuroprotection in neurodegenerative diseases and brain ischemia conditions where mitochondrial dysfunction has a pivotal role in their pathogenesis; we thereby try to find therapeutic strategies bases on restoring mitochondrial function. I believe the interaction with other members of this COST action can bring about interesting collaborations to support: (i) our knowledge on mitochondrial function and develop new drugs for identities that still do not have efficient treatments and (ii) improve our knowledge on the involvement of mitochondrial dysfunction in these diseases. - Manuela Lopez (2016).
