How to get there

By plane

Riga International Airport RIX.
From the Airport to the Conference Venue - the airport is located 15 km from the conference venue, however, there is no direct public transport from the Riga airport to Jurmala, thus there are 2 options to get to the conference venue:
  • Option 1. By taxi - 15-20 min drive; 12-18 EUR depends on company (you can also use Taxify). Note that you have to be careful not to overpay for taxi. Recommended taxi companies are BalticTaxi (a light green car), RedCab (a white car with red roof) or using the app β€œTaxify”.
  • Option 2. By public transport: Airport - Riga center - Jurmala. Take the bus No.22 at the Riga airport (stop Lidosta Riga; direction Abrenes iela) to the center of Riga (30 min) - exit at the stop Autoosta. (Alternative express minibus No.322 - exit at the stop Stacijas Laukums.) If you buy the ticket in a vending machine, the price is 1.15 EUR and if you buy the ticket from the bus driver, it is 2.00 EUR.
From there walk to the Riga Central station - it is a short-walking distance.
Take the train to the station Bulduri (30 min). Train directions: Riga-Sloka; Riga - Tukums 1 and 2; Riga - Dubulti.
The conference venue in 10-15 min walk from train station.

By coach

Riga International Coach Terminal. From Coach terminal to Conference Venue - take the train to Bulduri from Riga Central Station.

COST MitoEAGLE reimbursement

1. Eligibility: Participants from Inclusivness Target Countries, Early career investigators and participants from all COST countries and International Partner Countries can apply - MitoEAGLE network.
2. Priority will be given to members of Inclusiveness Target Countries, to participants with specific presentations and to participants who will attend the entire event (Conference and Working Group Meeting).
3. Send your abstract in the Abstract format to conference e-mail and to [email protected] in Cc
Submitted abstracts provide the basis for allocation of MitoEAGLE reimbursement.
4. The COST MitoEAGLE reimbursement will cover the local costs (accommodation with 55€/night flat rate and meals with 20€ flat rate) and travel expenses.Registration fees can not be reimbursed.
     Β» Notification of MitoEAGLE reimbursement will be given until Aug 03rd. 

ITC Conference Grant

max of 5 participants will be awarded with the ITC Conference Grant.
Who can apply:Conference Grants are exclusively reserved for PhD students and ECI’s with a primary affiliation in an institution located in an ITC.
Task: The applicant must make an oral/poster presentation at the conference in question and must be listed in the official event/conference programme. The main subject of the oral presentation / poster presentation / speech at the approved conference must be on the topic of the Action and must acknowledge COST.
The participation of each applicant must be pre-approved by the Action MC.
How to apply
1. Register for the MiP2018/MitoEAGLE conference
2. Contact the local organizer with the wish to apply for the ITC Conference Grant
3. Send an abstract to [email protected] and to the local organizer
4. The decision will be made by the COST Action Chair and the local organizer
5. As soon as the decision was made you will receive an instruction on how to apply on COST
