- Thank you for your interest in the OROBOROS Oxygraph-2k – the modular two-chamber system for high-resolution respirometry (HRR). The O2k-Core is the Oxygraph-2k complete for basic high-resolution respirometry - ready for application. It supports all optional add-on O2k-Modules and is incorporated in our different packages, such as the O2k-Fluorometer.
- The O2k modular concept is user-friendly, offering experimental packages with flexible add-on extensions. O2k-Modules can be combined in any configuration with the O2k-Core, and can be added any time to extend the O2k-MultiSensor System according to application-specific requirements (TIP2k, O2k-Fluo LED2, O2k-TPP+, pH, NO). Auxiliary HRR-Tools complete the package for high-resolution respirometry and mitochondrial physiology.

Delivery period
- O2k-Core: six weeks
- Separately ordered modules: four weeks

DatLab
- The O2k-Core includes the latest version of our in-house developed software DatLab and free follow-up updates of this version for the following two years.
- The purchase of the O2k-Fluo LED2-Module as well as any electronic upgrading of your O2k-Main Unit (multisensor, TIP2k upgrade) includes the latest DatLab version without charge.
- A PC is required (not included) for connecting the O2k to DatLab.

Training
- With the O2k, one registration fee is waived for participation in an O2k-Workshop. For a travel grant to one of our O2k-Workshops, please contact us in conjunction with the purchase of the O2k-Core and modular extensions: [email protected].
Warranty
- OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS offers a warranty of two years on all products of OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS (except consumables and glassware).
Young Investigator and O2k-Network Postdoc Support
- OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS offers a special 10% Young Investigator Discount on the O2k-Core as start-up support for scientists establishing a new lab in their first university position. This special 10% discount on the O2k-Core is further awarded to scientists coming from an O2k-Network Lab and starting a Postdoc position at a different institution.

High-output

Low running costs
- Annual costs for O2k-spares are less than € 1,000 based on long-term experience with the Oxygraph-2k (e.g. spare glass chamber, stoppers).
- The POS sensor has a warranty of 24 months and a life span of more than 10 years (see our Bioblast wiki on the appropriate handling of the POS sensor: POS Sensor Service
- In O2k-MultiSensor applications, spare sensors (e.g. glass pH electrode) may increase the costs by € 700 to € 1,400 per year.
- A POS membrane replacement is not required over periods of several months and other small parts such as sealing rings or gaskets do not need to be replaced for one year or more. The costs are therefore less than € 20 per year.
Chemicals required (not supplied by OROBOROS INSTRUMENTS)
- Media: Calculate 3 ml per run per chamber, e.g. MiR05 or MiR06.
- Chemicals: Substrates, uncouplers, inhibitors, specific effectors.
- Washing with deionized or distilled water, with pure ethanol (removing inhibitors) and 70% Ethanol (sterilization, storage).
- O2k-MultiSensor applications: Calibration solutions, fluorophores.
