Talk:Permeabilization of plasma membrane
Description
Permeabilization of plasma membrane with optimum digitonin or saponin concentrations yields effective wash-out of free cytosolic molecules including adenylates, substrates, and cytosolic enzymes. Since the plasma membrane is impermeable to ADP, Cytochrome c, and many other mitochondrial substrates, permeabilization of plasma membrane allows the accessibility of externally added compounds to the mitochondria.
