Sensor Service by Oroboros Instruments and Background Information to Sensor Service

The anode of the POS consists of a solid silver ring coated with silver chloride (There is no "Ag coating"). The AgCl coating will GROW during use. A typical contamination will be the formation of AgO. AgO will be preferentially removed by the ammonia treatment during sensor service, however part of the AgCl layer will also be removed. Any defects in the AgCl layer are restored by running the O2k for a few hours (or over night) after the sensor service or just by continued use.

We offer a sensor service in our workshop, but this is essentially the same that you can do on your own. The main advantage of the sensor service in our workshop is the presence of a very experienced and very patient technician (many iterations of NH3 / running over night may be required to re-animate a POS).
