Mitochondrial Physiology Map - MiPMap

The project MiPMap is initiated to create a list of mitochondrial properties in cell types, tissues and species. MiPMap will provide an information synthase for Comparative Mitochondrial Physiology.

MiPMap List of Mitochondrial Properties in Cell Types, Tissues and Species

1. Species

For example, in this list you may find information on mouse cell lines and tissues, e.g. mouse kidney mitochondria:
* Is malic enzyme present?
* Is the P/E<1.0 like in mouse brain but different from mouse skeletal muscle?
* Which UCPs are present?
* Preparation of isolated mitochondria, permeabilized tissuem, homogenate.
* Which respiration medium is recommended? ->> Do not use media with K+, which inhibits kidney mitochondrial respiration.
* Automatically generated list of references:
->> Special:BrowseData/Publications

2. Cell types and Tissues

Or you may find Skeletal muscle mitochondria (or split into aerobic/glycolytic, ..) studied across species:
* Human - mitochondrial preparations (isolated mitochondria, permeabilized fibres, homogenate)
->> Human_-_Skeletal_muscle
* Human populations
* Mouse / Mouse strains
* Rat
* Pig
* Equine
* Fish, Squid, ...

3. Diseases
