Some thoughts on Journal publications
- Most established journals now admit preprints in their publication system without any problem, if they have the format requested by the editor of the journal (see for example CellPress: http://crosstalk.cell.com/blog/lets-talk-about-preprint-servers). A preprint is not considered as an indexed publication and usually attracts attention from the scientific community. This may increase the impact of the final journal publication.
