Amytal

Description

Amytal sodium salt (synonym: amobarbital; 5-Ethyl-5-isoamylbarbituric acid) is a barbiturate drug and an inhibitor of Complex I.

Preparation of 200 mM stock solution (dissolved in 99.9% ethanol):

1) Weigh 49.65 mg of amytal.
2) Dissolve in 10 ml 50% ethanol.
3) Divide into 500 ยตl aliquots (use dark glass vials - light sensitive).
4) Store at -20 ยฐC.
